The district is no longer using an automated phone message system to alert parents of school closings. We have established QuickText, a new mobile text messaging system. In order to receive up-to-date information via your mobile device, you must sign up for the service.

Liberty Public Schools Safety and Security Division has established a School Safety Hotline for reporting any issues concerning school violence, drugs, and bullying. Please call 736-7331 to report any concerns students or parents would have on these security issues. Messages will be anonymous and will be investigated by the LPS Safety and Security Division in cooperation with the District School Resource Officers.
Student and building safety is our number one priority and we will be as proactive as possible to protect our students, staff, and patrons.

Kyle Palmer is beginning his 3rd year as Principal of Lewis and Clark Elementary. Mr. Palmer began his career as a 4th grade teacher for 7 years in Ankeny, Iowa. Mr. Palmer received his master’s degree in Education Leadership from Drake University and his bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from the University of Northern Iowa. His wife Tarah is a 5th grade teacher at Warren Hills Elementary. He has a 5-year old son Karson who is starting kindergarten this fall and a 3-year old daughter named Klaire. They are expecting their 3rd child in October. Mr. Palmer enjoys spending time with family and friends, sports, laughing, watching movies, and working with the wonderful LC Family. Mr. Palmer welcomes you to our wonderful school and wants you to know that the staff will do everything they can to help your child be successful and enjoy learning.

Tim Nelson is the assistant principal of Lewis and Clark, and has been in this position since 2007. He previously worked as the Principal at Ridgeview Elementary for 10 years. He has 32 years of experience in education as a teacher, counselor, and administrator. Tim has a B.S. in Elementary Education from the University of Missouri- Columbia, an M.A. in Counseling Psychology, an Ed. S. in Counseling Psychology, and an Ed. S. in Administration from U.M.K.C. Tim enjoys working with children, reading, sports, and outdoor activities. He looks forward to getting to know Lewis and Clark families and helping your students have a great year!
